Sports Venture & Growth Investor

OVERVIEW

We back the next generation of brands that change the game and are seeking a results-oriented, strategic and analytically-driven Investment Lead to join us.

You will operate at the vibrant intersection of Sports, Investments and Business Management and play a pivotal role in ensuring the success of Next 3 - scaling the impact, while leading the investment process, from sourcing through execution, across the entire business. 

An ideal opportunity for a passionate investor and dedicated Sports enthusiast, you will also support the growth and effectiveness of Next 3 portfolio companies including New York Giants, Gotham FC, LA Golf Club and others, helping ensure our impact far exceeds invested capital. You will have full exposure to the inner workings of a disruptive private fund, world class teams, and enjoy a massive impact on the future of Sports.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Investment Leadership

• Oversee end-to-end investment processes, including target identification, due diligence, financial analysis, execution and post-investment monitoring and management.
• Recommend strategies, including deal pricing and structure to maximize value and mitigate risks.
• Lead deal negotiations, working with partners and counsel to draft and negotiate contracts and closing documents.
• Manage all aspects of the transactions, including preparation of investment and legal documents.

Portfolio Company Guidance and Growth 

• Provide ongoing financial support and strategic horsepower to portfolio companies.
• Accelerate the growth of Next 3’s marquee assets, including Giants, Gotham FC and other teams and ventures in the Next 3 portfolio.

Strategic Planning & Analysis

• Build upon the company's investment strategy in alignment with overall business goals.
• Establish key performance indicators to measure the success of the investment portfolio.
• Analyze data and track progress, providing informative reports and recommendations to LPs.

Partnership, Stakeholder and Portfolio Management

• Act as primary POC for investment banks and investment partners to analyze opportunities and expand the acquisition funnel.
• Cultivate strategic partnerships and alliances that enhance our market position.
• Develop and implement communication strategies to keep stakeholders informed on progress, deals and impact.

• Manage, mentor and develop the investment team and its resources.
• Foster a collaborative and results-oriented work environment.
• Exhibit a player/ coach mentality, comfortable setting vision, leading a small team, and also rolling up your sleeves to do the work.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree; MBA experience preferred
• 10-12 years relevant experience, in private equity, venture capital, portfolio management / growth, family office or similar buyside environment where you have made principal investments in private companies and led rigorous diligence processes
• Proven track record of leading and closing successful investment transactions, while also working strategically with portfolio companies 
• Exceptional financial acumen, with ability to analyze financial and legal documents, identify market opportunities, and develop valuation assessments based on research and due diligence
• Meaningful experience structuring, negotiating and executing transactions
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills
• Demonstrated leadership and team management experience
• Based in the New York area and excited to work in person several days per week
• Passionate about sports
